Seattle Community Open Band Contra Dance

Gift of Grace Lutheran - 2102 N 40th, Seattle (Wallingford Neighborhood).
Potluck 5PM, Dancing 6:00-8:30PM
Cost: $5 per person, $10 per family

Seattle Community Contra Dance - an open-band contra dance, featuring an open mic for callers, preceded by a potluck supper (please bring a dish to share, as well as your own plates and utensils). It's a supportive place to dance, call, and make music - beginners welcome! The band and the callers' open mic are led and hosted by a different favorite local musician and caller each month.

The dances will be held on the following dates:

  • Sept 14, 2008
  • Oct. 12 - Brad Reynolds leads the band with French Canadian, Irish & New * England tunes Adam Carlson hosts the callers
  • Nov. 9th - Suzanne Girardot & Jerry Berger lead the band with sweet Old Time tunes, Eric Curl hosts the callers
  • December 7th - Note, this is the first Sunday of the month. A change for this month only. David Kaynor and friends. The contra crafts people will also be selling their goods.
  • Jan 11, 2009
  • Feb 8, 2009 - Stuart Williams leads the band. Hal Mueller hosts the callers
  • March 8, 2009 - Frank Blade leads the band with sweet Old Time tunes. Russell Owen hosts the callers
  • April 12, 2009 - Cathie Whitesides leads the band. Sherry Nevins hosts callers
  • May 10, 2009 - Special Mothers Day hosts TBA
