- May 15-Music as tasty as real New England maple syrup from David Kaynor
(Montague MA), David & Andrew Foster (Olympia), & Eric Schlorff (Olympia) on 2
fiddles, piano, guitar, harmonica, & bass. Carol Piening (Olympia) calls
equally smooth & sweet contras.
- May 22-Jump-start your Folklife weekend with this power pack of talent &
energy: Jamie Laval & Ashley Broder (Asheville NC) , Jeff
Kerssen-Griep & Dave Cory (Portland), plus Seattle's David Cahn (fiddles,
mandolin, banjo, guitar, & bass). Jovial caller David Kaynor (Montague, MA)
lights the spark.
- May 29-"Mac's Quackers" features National Heritage Fellow Bob McQuillen from
Peterboro NH on accordion & piano, trusty pals Frank Blade & Warren Argo on
fiddle, guitar, banjo, & mandolin, and the illustrious Luther Black calling.
- June 5-Portland's "Wild Hair" is Betsy Branch on swinging fiddle, Todd
Silverstein whistling, bouzouki-, and sax-ing, Mark Douglass's syncopacious
piano, and Jeff Kersson-Griep's flywheel guitar and occasional
percussion. Sherry Nevins contributes high-spirited calling and appropriately
wild hair.
- June 12-The "Kingston Quartet" (Claude Ginsburg, Dave Bartley, Betsy Cooper,
Anita Anderson) some of your favorites from "KGB" and "Tricky Brits/BAG O'
Tricks" team up on melodious and pulsating fiddle, flute, mandolin, bouzouki,
guitar, & piano. Dynamic young caller Adina Gordon (Swannanoa, NC)
orchestrates the fun!
- June 19-From the hot contra scene in Philadelphia comes "The Contraptions"
(Nora Smith on fiddle, Chloe Maher on piano, and Bill Quern on mandolin,
banjo, fiddle, harmonica, & concertina ). Adept
caller & dance composer Rick Mohr flies in from Watertown, MA.
- June 26-The "Toad Mountain Ramblers" (Mike Schway fiddle, Dave Nerad banjo &
Clyde Curley guitar - Bellingham) play high-altitude music that will make you
jump and holler! Caller David Kaynor (Montague, MA) guides the way.
- July 3-Sparkling Irish fiddle & guitar from Northwest treasures Dale Russ &
Mike Saunders; endearing caller Jennifer Youngman selects contradance gems to
fit.
- July 10-"Shout Lulu" (Pete Howard, Skye & Paul McGowen - Fayetteville,
Arkansas) fiddle, banjo, guitar, uke, clogging ; Tony
