Greenwood Family Dance

Regular dance season just ended but two dances have been added to raise money for Folklife; see below. Also, watch for Greenwood Family Dance at the Folklife Festival. We hope to have at least two family dances over the course of the weekend.

CONTRA FOR TWEENS AND TEENS WITH THE YOUTH BAND THE GREATER UNWASHED, SHERRY NEVINS CALLING. Greenwood Community Family Dance brings you "Contra and Folk for Tweens and Teens: A Folklife Benefit Dance," Greenwood Senior Center, 3-5 PM. Caller: Sherry Nevins. Band: The Greater Unwashed – an accomplished gang of Stuart Williams college-age students including Johnny James, Wesley Laws, Hank Veenstra, Nick Veenstra and Stuart Williams himself., 525 N 85th Street, Seattle, WA 98103. 3-5 PM, $10 per person (suggested donation; pay what you can, but come!). Greenwood Community Family Dance hosts a “Family Dance for Folklife” – Greenwood Senior Center, 3-5 PM, Caller: Sherry Nevins. Bank: The Soggy Island Boys (as in Bainbridge Island) - another accomplished group of Stuart Williams students including Walker Hauptman, Dominic Davok, Hank Veenstra, Graham Mitchell and Stuart Williams himself. Perfect for families with children 10 and younger, but fun for all ages. Parents, please dance with your children and have them under your supervision at all times. Food allergy aware events! Water and fruit served. No outside food in dance hall. Please wash and wipe hands before dancing. Thank you! Cost: $20 per family, $7 per person (suggested donation).
